I think it is such a shame that Concorde was scrapped. It felt as though technology was going backwards from that point. I can remember seeing one of the first flights from my window in hospital. The nurse gave me a seat by the window so I could see it.

I absolutely adored that aircraft (and the Vulcan too of course), and was lucky enough (only because I made sure of it!!!!), to book two experience flights, one sub and one supersonic. The first was a 40 minute flight dawdling from one airport to another (we, the passengers, had coach transfers included in the day trip), and the second flew over the Southend airshow then went supersonic.

If I really want to do something, and by heck I wanted to go on her, I go all out to achieve it.

We were given champagne (yuk), orange juice, and caviar (double yuk.) I think I went home a bit hungry after that.

And I remember waiting in London for the fly past with the Red Arrows. Bloody brilliant experience.

I went on Concord at some Museum, I cannot remember where.

I did too, it was The Fleet Air Arm Museum, this Concorde 02.
