According to a study conducted by IHS Automotive, the move by the UK to break away from the EU could ultimately cost vehicle manufacturers more than 2.8 million sales in the next two years. The report, which was presented by Autonews, predicts a drop of more than 200,000 in worldwide vehicle deliveries this year alone, a phenomenon purely triggered by Brexit alone. Over the next year, the drop is projected to increase to 1.25 million, and 1.38 million in 2018.

I don't think anyone has correctly PREDICTED what will happen in a move to exit the EU, some have tried and failed miserably.....
Mark Carney for one....

The CEO of Toyota said he would remain in Britain whichever way the referendum went, and now we see him investing in Britain. Siemens have done the same with a massive wind turbine manufacturing plant in Hull. Seem like some businesses are not fooled by the doom and gloomers....

Yeh your right about PREDICTIONS although the ones by brexiters far out weigh those by Mr Carney.

I'm sure you can think of some £350m, 40 trade deals, easiest negotiations ever, leave on the 29th you get the message???

Mr van Zyl told the BBC if the firm is unable to sell into the EU market duty free, it will harm its UK operations.

Many carmakers in Britain have warned a bad or no Brexit deal would be damaging for the UK car industry.

"If we have anything that has an impact on your competitiveness of manufacturing in the UK, it will definitely have an impact on future investment decisions," Mr van Zyl said in response to a question about a "no-deal" Brexit scenario.

"The reason for many manufacturers being in the UK is the fact that they could export to the European market duty free - and that is a critical one," he told the BBC on the sidelines of the Paris Motor Show.

No lie this time, but an exaggeration.

Who would not want to have a perspective battery plant?

Uncertainty associated with Brexit, the decline of diesel car sales, which were over expectations in*the UK*and the retirement of some car manufacturers is highly affecting the British automotive business.

To boost the sector or at least prevent job losses, UK plans to attract investment in electric car battery plant. At this point, it’s not clear who would be interested in the project (talks concerns at least several manufacturers according to rumors) and how the UK could tempt the investor (probably by some tax cuts or other incentives).

Yeah - because my mate, who is one of the managers there was told by the Directors of the company that BMW have awarded them the contract for manufacture and supply of all their batteries for their electric cars.

They are already tooling up to supply Jaguar Landrover ...

Have you got special needs or something ?

Good news - the firm has seen the direction in which the wind is blowing.

Brexit-free.

Excellent.

Happy days.
