Are the cracks showing?

It seems that the tempers in Europe are fraying a little as
our respected mps cerry on carrying on in their inimitable
behaviour.
statements from the commission and other eu leaders
are now starting to increasingly stress the damage to the
union and not only how uk will suffer. Germany seems to
be particularly worried.
Some in the commission are still very truculent. But some
appear to be breaking ranks.
How do others read it

Regards, Donkeyman.

I feel we would have seen deeper cracks if leaving with no deal had been more widely promoted . Now that it is looking a possibility by default again we might see more of a reaction from the EU who see the 39 billion disappearing into the distance money that will have to be made up by France and Germany .

Re: Are the cracks showing?

Won’t you join our Common Market? said the Spider to the Fly,
It really is a winner and the cost is not too high,

I know De Gaulle said “Non”, but he hadn’t got a clue,
We want you in, my friends and I, for we have plans for you.

You’ll have to pay a little more than we do, just for now,
As Herr Kohl said, and I agree, we need a new milch cow.

It’s just a continental term believe me, mon ami,
Like “Vive la France” or “Mad Anglais” or even “E.E.C.”

As to the rules, don’t worry friend, there’s really but a few,
You’ll find that we ignore them – but they all apply to you!

Give and share between us, that’s what it’s all about
You do all the giving, and we all share it out.

It’s very British, is it not, to help a friend in need?
You’ve done it twice in two World Wars, a fact we must concede,

So climb aboard the Market Train, don’t sit there on the side,

Your continental cousins want to take you for a ride

Quite correct Banchory, the cracks are appearing all over,
But this is the first time its happened on the other side
of the channel.
The only thing we must worry about is the weakness on
the remain side, who seem to be willing to give anything
away, to not rock the eu boat.

Regards, Donkeyman.

No, more like the patience with crackpots like boris and farage has been broken.

Barnier said an extension beyond the end of May, requiring the UK to take part in European parliamentary elections, “would carry significant risks for the EU and therefore strong justification would be needed”.
He said businesses in the EU had warned Brussels “against the cost of extending uncertainty”. The UK prolonging its status as a member state while still seeking to leave with a negotiated deal “could pose a risk on our decision-making autonomy”.

Barnier pointed out that the European commission president, Jean-Claude Juncker, said on Monday that the EU’s patience had reached its limit. “Personally, as the negotiator, I have some patience left…We are a little bit from the end, we still have a little bit of patience.”

“No deal was never our desired or intended scenario,” Barnier told an audience at a thinktank event. “But the EU27 is now prepared. It becomes, day after day, more likely.”

by the way, is the UK prepared for the no deal crash?
