Re: Boris climbs down.

Oh dear ... looks like Corbyn may have shot himself in the foot.

He said if the delay bill gets royal ascent he would agree to a general election. The problem is that if this happened, he would lose in the election and Boris with his Brexit Party majority would repeal it before it was even acted on.

Kier Starmer is a bit red faced

But aren't the Remainers now trying to dictate the date that the GE takes place? November being the preferred date so as to ensure if we come out, it is on their terms?

Who the hell do I vote for? Owen Paterson, my MP and a Brexiteer, who now belongs to a party that has been trussed up like a chicken, or The Brexit Party, who under normal circumstances, wouldn't have a hope in hell of ever being elected here in a Tory Shire that has been a safe seat for them for over 70 years. Great choice ey? Hope they do cooperate so no split votes.

Fait accompli, it seems.

Yes but they failed to realise, Boris could also ignore the delay-bill and we would be out on 31st October and the tories would clean up in a November election.

This is why Kier Starmer is worried because without Boris getting the extension from the EU now they could be derailed if he ignores their delay bill.

The beauty of that would be that it delivers on boris' promise to take the UK out of the EU. During the election period the exit date would elapse. If he does resign he really puts the country's interest (as brexiters see it) before his personal interest. GO boris!

Article 10

"political parties at European level contribute to forming European political awareness and to expressing the will of citizens of the Union”.

"Among the conditions for recognition is that its member parties must be represented by, in at least one quarter of the Member States, members of the European Parliament, of national parliaments, of regional parliaments or of regional assemblies."

Read that through again to ensure you understand it.

In simple speak this means that the "will of citizens" can only be expressed by "European Level" political parties" and the definition of those are parties that represent people in multiple member states.
Congratulations realist. You just unmasked nigel farage as being in lieu with the european union. For years he was co-president of
EUROPE OF FREEDOM AND DIRECT DEMOCRACY (EFDD). A party in europarliament consisting of Party of Free Citizens (Czech Republic), Joëlle Bergeron – Independent MEP (France), Alternative for Germany (Germany), Five Star Movement (Italy), Order and Justice (Lithuania), KORWiN (Poland), Sweden Democrats (Sweden), UK Independence Party (United Kingdom).

All those parties hate the EU more than I do.
