Black and Decker saw.

My Black and Decker scorpion saw has broke, but is fixable if I could get the correct screwdriver to dismantle it. Can anyone tell me what is it? Hexicon with a pin in the middle.

It’s a security screw, you need a security screw bit set,

Further to my post, I think it is a ‘torx screw’. I have in the past had the saw apart when I had to replace another part. But I now ask myself, how or what did I use to dismantle it?

It's like an allen key but shaped like a star Emjay, they come in all sorts of sizes but can normally be found amongst your screwdriver bits.

I have loads of them Barry. But these have a hole in them for the ‘pin’ That is in the centre of the tool.

Ooo, that sounds like a good project. Let us know how it goes. I really do wish there was standardization of screw heads.

I have that tool as well, so much easier than a hand saw. First one packed up but it came with the box so kept that and put the new one in.
