Yes I saw something about that famous painting on the nine o’clock nudes last night Gummy, sorry I have a head cold, I had a feeling it was going to surface here any minute.
I never heard of Joanna Hiffernan till now although I had seen the painting several times on BBC4 art programs, the nude painting can be very complimentary to the female form, but that particular one (to me) was always a bit too much ‘in your face’ if you know what i mean, I never liked it.
Heffernan is an Irish surname, but I have never known nor heard of a Hiffernan, sounds German to me.

I never knew old Arthur Guinness had 21 children, ten surviving to adulthood, and he wasn’t finished yet according to him, he wasn’t a catholic at a time when catholics were supposed to have all the large families, Guinness sure is good for you, fair dues to you Arthur old boy.He commented in a letter of 1790:

It’s a wonder he had the time to go to work at all, anyway he left them all very well off when he finally kicked it.
I thought Bazza’s mystery instrument looked familiar, I’ve seen one of those things being played on stage in the German district of the Yukon, it’s a Yukonfeckon, I know because when I asked the fella playing it what it was called he said “Yukonfeckon call it what you like”
