Extinction?

If the human race went extinct, would it be the end of the
universe???

Re: Extinction?

If the human race was to become extinct - of course it would not be the end of the universe. The universe would probably be a lot better off without us IMO, but us humans would never know. I have confidence that things would roll on quite nicely and we would not be missed.

Re: Extinction?

The universe isn't completely populated with humans. We only know that they are on our planet so far anyway. If they died out the universe would still exist but there would be nobody to worry about it anyway.

Yes l am sure things would go on fine Aerolor, but my point was
that if we werent here, nobody would know about the universe
and therefore it would not exist? Perhaps the question should be
Can the universe exist without the presence of a sentient being?

Nobody knows, Donkeyman. Of course. And nobody ever will.

Exactly Floydy! So does the universe require a certain level of
intelligence in its inhabitants before it becomes apparent!( in other
words) exists??
For instance, does an ameoba know about the universe existing?

Simply - yes, I believe it can. The fact that we (or other sentient beings) may not be around to know about something, be it the universe or something else, doesn't mean that that something does not actually exist. It could be very real in another reality (as could lots of things).

It only would not exist to US if we do not know about it and/or have not experienced it.

I doubt it.
It would evolve and change, but not disappear, and other species would become far more profilic instead, and so would trees and plant life to feed the explosion of other creatures. Nature always survives eventually, because it is prepared to adapt more than us.

To my mind Mups that is what life (in any form) is about adaptation/evolution. I have this faith that everything will adapt to it's circumstances if it is to remain in existence and given enough time.
