It is controlling, not my thing.
A relationship is all about compromise, respecting the views of your Partner.
I loathe Strictly Come Dancing, I can sit through it and hold her hand and not whinge.
I do not expect my partner to do the same when I am watching F! and Lewis Hamilton driving round a Track.

You come across as perfectly happy and self-assured, you brook no argument with your outlook and beliefs, what makes you think that you aren't accepted for who you are?

Acceptance is a two way street, so if I want someone to accept me as I am, then I have to be prepared to accept them as they are.
This sometimes involves compromise on both sides.
I can’t change the fundamental essence of who I am and wouldn’t try to retain a relationship with anyone who consistently tried to that. However, I can adjust my behaviour and choice of actions a bit to accommodate a friend’s needs or wishes - equally, I expect a friend would want to do the same for me.
