Today on Brexit Central, Austin Mitchell Nails it Again !

I'm no fan of the left, but I have a huge admiration for Austin Mitchell (ex Labour MP for Grimsby) and his views on Brexit.

Here is his latest article posted today on Brexit Central (in case you haven't read it already). I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I did.

If he was leader of the labour party they would'nt be in their
present situation l and would have a good chance of getting
back in power, however l think he places to much faith in
Boris, maybe because there is a slight chance he can take
us out of eu! Myself ldont think he can, and allthough it will
take longer, l think our best chance for real change is the
brexit party?
However Austin Mitchell is a breath of fresh air coming from
the labour party, pity it seems to be too late!

Mitchell's article basically re-hashes the old refrains:
Its all the EU's fault.
They need us as much as we need them.
These arguments are failed and false. We may well get a hard exit without a pre-agreed deal - Boris is promising this. But there is no basis for the 'they need us' concept. And the only nation 'at fault' is the UK, after all we are the one's leaving and refusing to accept the agreement.

The trade deficit would suggest that they do.... and our contributions ... and our territorial waters, defence, intelligence, financial markets etc etc

Re: Today on Brexit Central, Austin Mitchell Nails it Again !

Explain your trade deficit argument please. About half our exports go to the EU - that looks like a major dependency. About 8% of the EU exports go to the UK - that looks like a non-dependency. So explain why you think they depend on the UK.
