Re: Anyone here had their appendix out?
Yeah those are possibilities too - I did have an appt with a specialist last year, but I restricted my diet (went on the detox) as it took ages for the appointment to come through, and so was able to control the symptoms by the time I saw him. When I did see him I said that if I ate what normal people eat I would be in pain, as it flares up if I divert off the 'detox' a bit. But he said there's not much they can do if I'm not currently in pain - argh! And to contact my gp if it comes back.Re: Anyone here had their appendix out?
I had mine out a few years ago. I had been unwell a few days so went to the doctors, he sent me straight to the hospital where I was checked out and had a scan and then sent straight to surgery. When I came round after the op I was told they had took my appendix out as they thought they might as well since they were in there, but the appendix were ok, I had a water infection!Re: Anyone here had their appendix out?
I can't believe how many people's appendixes have been taken out Anne when they've been fine!Re: Anyone here had their appendix out?
I had grumbling appendicitis as a teenager and I have to say that the pain is dreadful Azz. It is a hot stabbing pain that moves from one side to the other and then finally centralises. My mother thought I was making it up, and called the doctor out (those were the days!) and I ended up in hospital. But it subsided on its own and I didn't have it taken out. It has been calm and well behaved every since, luckily.Re: Anyone here had their appendix out?
Yeah that's the thing - it's not all that bad. People say they were in agony, and mine varies from a minor pain (when I eat very bland food) to just a pain/sicky feeling if I eat anything flavoured. :-/ I just know it's not normal - sometimes it localises in my hip bone/groin area (on the right hand side).
