Re: The English Habit

Tea is our main drink.
I can only drink coffee in the cold version hot coffee give me terrible stomach cramp. No idea why.

So we have a whole shelf devoted to tea, there are two types of Earl grey bags and loose leaf, several green teas, a chai mango that is addictive. Red bush, spiced Christmas tea, gold tea ( slightly caramel tones) and of course the Typhoo bags.
The good old builders is drunk from china mugs. Splash of milk not so strong you could stand a spoon in it but not so weak that it is see through.
The other teas are drunk from glass cups.

Or if we are out then the flask and picnic beakers.

We do like our tea in this house and get through gallons of it.

Re: The English Habit

I like Earl Grey tea and we have about 3 or 4 cups a day plus coffee , mainly those pods but never instant powder. Sometimes we have proper ground beans. I don’t like strong tea but I don’t mind some of the fruit teas and green teas.

You should see my stash.. I order the typhoo via amazon but because of the predicted brexit chaos I decided to stock up I now have 10 sacks containing 1100 bags in each. The use by is 2023 but I doubt it will last that long.

Gosh, Cass, Your stash makes mine sound like nothing at all! where do you keep them?

I buy the teabags when they are £3 for 240 tea bags. Luckily, they have good use by dates.

I have a spare room in my loft its where all of our extras go.
Before lockdown my daughter and I used to shop once a month in Germany where toiletries , washing detergent, loo roll, pet supplies and much much more is cheaper than here.
Our store cupboard is getting low but we are still managing to use from the store and saving the money for next time we are allowed to cross the border although by then I will need a van!

Apparently, Yorkshire Tea was blended to fit in with Yorkshire water!

Maybe reboiling the water changes the taste?

Re: The English Habit

Yorkshire tea, brewed in a pot for me at breakfast, lunch, teatime and after dinner. It must be brewed strong and served with no sugar and only a little splash of cow juice.
