Re: Navel Maneuvers.

Thank you all for your kind suggestions folks much appreciated. The fact that I don't have a fat belly is cause for concern as you can understand, I am very embarrassed about this problem and it's nice to be able to confide in you all. I plucked up the courage last night (after a few glasses of port) to seek the help of my beloved wife, maybe, I thought, with her smaller finger she could reach into the abyss and retract any foreign bodies trapped within. It's a long story but it ended with these words "I'm not putting my finger in that f...... thing." and off she went to bed, muttering obscenities all the way up the stairs.
I have given it a lot of thought overnight, indeed it caused a mini nightmare ending with me leaping out of bed screaming "I'm falling into a black hole Phyllis, save me!"
I'm going to meet my old doctor in the pub at lunchtime, he's 84 retired and comes in for a few pints every day, swears by the daily pint for a healthy life, anyway he keeps abreast of the new medical technology and I want to ask him what are the chances of filling it in with some skin from my backside, after all what's the point of having a navel anyway?, once you are born there is no further use for it is there?, it's just a nuisance unless of course you are a belly dancer.

Apparently, if it comes undone, it stops you from flying around the room making rude noises like a ballon that been let go of before tying a knot in it - that's what I was told anyway. I wouldn't take any chances personally but, I think that adequately answers your question

Jem - yer poor wife, what she has to put up with
Now why not put a lovely gem stone in there, it would stop the dust and fluff getting in - look pretty darn attractive too...

This is very worrying
Jem could always ask his good wife to squirt some liquid butter into said navel, that should help loosen offending finger!

Jim matey I have the perfect cure!!!! Since you are by profession a jeweller, why not place a small (very small) watch in the hole. That way you'll never be without the right time.

Well, if Jem is a watchmaker - can't he use one of those flat spring things that whirls round and round, that should sort his bellybutton out. Might make it even bigger though back to the drawing board ...
