Why is it?

I wonder why the weather forecast and the actual weather events don't often seem to coincide?

Actually, they quite well coincide.

Re: Why is it?

Because one can only predict a chaotic event to an approximate degree of confidence.

Re: Why is it?

The answer will depend on which forecasting facility compiled the day's chart.

I tend to listen to The Inshore Waters forecast from the Met Office as I live along the south coast and I also check out the Met Office website for more info during the day because their accuracy is far better then Metro Group.

Re: Why is it?

I have the weather for our postcode on-line, which is predicted by the weather centre about 3 miles from here, it is incorrect more often than not.

I have heard tell that the UK weather forecasts were more accurate in the days when there were weather ships in the Atlantic Ocean. I don't know how true that is.

Re: Why is it?

The experts have stated..not predicted that there is a big storm on Jupiter, yet the buggers are always wrong when it comes to guessing what the weather will be like tomorrow

They do coincide but not always in the right order.

Re: Why is it?

I check my seaweed hanging in the garden...if it’s wet..it’s raining..if it’s dry..it’s not...
