The rows of old terrace houses cleared for what they called slum clearance without a thought for the communities broken up forever

I'm sure the tea is fine, for what it is. But don't eat the them, it's the glue holding them together, it's not carbon neutral.

We're not allowed any pleasures these days.

I miss the hours spent making trolleys, scrumping, listening to pick of the pops on a sunday when the music was worth listening to and not the crap that we have nowadays.

They don't use glue it is plastic coated paper and the teabags are welded together by melting the plastic.

My UK brother complained sometime ago that teabags didn't compost, at the time I was sure that they did and indeed Australian ones did because they were still held together with a staple. These days however they are plastic coated and giving the drinker a yummy dose of micro plastics in their tea.

Tea bags are made from polypropylene - no paper in sight whatsoever. If you want to compost the tea leaves you have to let the bags dry out first then remove them from the tea bags. Discard the bags in the general garbage 'cos they're not currently recyclable.

PG Tips tea bags are recyclable. They no longer use plastic in theirs.
