I live in hope.
I invested in Premium Bonds more than 25 years ago and had a small win of £50, with hindsight if I had invested the money elsewhere I'd have had a guaranteed profit much greater!

Re: GEB maturity value

Both Dianne and me won £25 this month. We've won £400-£500 over the years. Nothing big - I think the most was £100 one month.

Bought each of the grandchildren £100 bond at birth, one granddaughter won £100 on hers the first time it was in the draw.

Jazzi, don't become too hopeful .... I also bought both my grandchildren £100 premium bonds when they were born and there has been no sign of a win 14 years later

Valice, I'm so pleased to hear your granddaughter was lucky

Oh I know that! I've had £110 worth for decades, and got £25 a couple of years ago, my only win.

Thanks alice, bought myself a cheap tablet, something small that I can take on small trips. Spent the afternoon loading stuff on to it.

Yes, I remember you getting it out at the carvery to take photos! What make do you have? Mine is an Acer Iconia, kitkat Android, 32gb. Cost me £99.

I had a problem with the micro SD card (on which I'd transferred videos from my desktop pc - drivers for the tablet couldn't be located so I couldn't connect, it's Windows Vista), because the instruction manual (which I downloaded, BTW) didn't say which way up it had to be inserted. Of course, it has to go in the 'wrong' way, with the chips facing upwards! Once I'd done that I could play the videos in the normal way.

I also downloaded a software that would allow me to sync music files via wifi, but only 100 files, so may have to put music on the card.

I am looking forward to taking it to the L/District as it is so light and will not weigh heavily in my bag, and will contain all my entertainment needs. Leaving me room for snacks, water, and coffee for the journey.
