My daughter works in our local M&S food outlet and occasionally witnesses shoplifters (or indeed has other customers tell her they've seen a shoplifter). She reports it to her supervisor/manager (as per instructions for her not to take action), and they'll deal with it if at all possible.Most of the time the shoplifters get away with it.

I have felt both many ,many years ago...both were wrong to feel, but I was made to feel those emotions, growing up.

Indeed, when my son was studying, he worked part time at Tesco..saw it a lot..( shoplifting)followed by what your daughter does.
Yes, most get away with it...

Well that's true.
When we had our shop a young chap ran of with some goods stuffed up his jumper.
We reported it to the police but they didn't do anything.
Its on them, I'm afraid, nothing to do with me, didn't see a thing.
