I'm sure you are right. We in Europe have been living a long period of peace. It seems it is now ending. The US was borne of conflict and rejection. It's never forgotten that violence is one side of human nature.

But you can't compare their stats with ours like for like. You need to look at percentages. No doubt the comparison is still shocking but that's only because we have idealistic assumptions about humans.

Its mainly drug related knife crime in the UK, whereas in the US it's drug related gun crime, now where is Tony Soprano when he's needed

We all know how it ended for Tony. What is even more sad is that the actor died too.

He was a TV mafia gangster who defied some family members who wished to push drugs in the US.

Hi

Our lot stab each other, if they had access to guns the death toll would be much higher.

I have to wholeheartedly concur. The erosion of people`s morals must have been in progress for some time already. The big question is....speaking from an evolutionistic point of view....what happens next..?

Massive inequality between rich and poor, poor given up any hope of improvement, then life begins to feel cheap. We have it here too but they stab each other, put a gun in their hands they'd be killing more people too.

Doesn't that just prove that allowing every citizen to own a gun is wrong Swim?
