I was hit once by a bicycle that was coming downhill and around a sharp bend in the road (on university campus) and as I couldn't see or hear him coming, as I crossed the road he hit me and I (plus him and his bike) flew into the air. I was on crutches for weeks after that and the campus police said from his tyre skid marks, he was close to 30mph (campus speed is 5mph).

Hard to feel elated when you've experienced the other side of speeding cycles.
