Awwww Man, I love Skye, in fact all the West Coast from Ullapool up to Durness and across the top to Thurso. Just Stunning, so wild and craggy with wee Bays and Isles just off the coast. I always think that's what Scotland is all about, scenery wise.

The drive over to Portree is just stunning (and a bit scary in places).

Re: Bonnie Scotland

Worth it though, have you climbed up to the Old Man of Storr?

Not recently.

No, haven't done any climbing tbh. I really don't like heights. Even the Skye Bridge was an obstacle.

Just looked it up and it looks fairly flat.

Re: Bonnie Scotland

It's not that flat, the walk starts off easy but gets harder as you go, very grassy so can be a bit slippy if it's been wet. Took us over an hour to get there as I kept stopping to get my breath.

I would probably have a go but Mrs LD is not so good with things like that. The first time we came to Scotland in the 90's, we stayed in Borthwick Castle for one night, which she loved. Out of our price range these days though.
