Why do older folks still say pull the chain?
(Surely push the handle these days, or touch the flush button)

I've never heard anyone say any of those, Sweetie. Great idea for a thread though.

Given that they are used to dry clean hands/bodies why do towels become dirty ?

I think once one is Older then whoever is just so well programmed in certain ways, then saying pull the chain is just there in the brain to say it.

On the same sort of level.

Why do Women always say:
Put the toilet lid down? :

An open toilet seat is not nice and everything looks better when it's down.

Great believer in baths myself,mainly because I find it hard to breath in a shower these days.
So this could be one of the reasons or answers if you like ST.

With a bath you lay in perfumed or smelly bubble bath/bath salts you also lay in soapy water.
So when it comes to drying the towel, it gets smelly with various different odours.
My towels never get dirty they just get smelly which is why they go into the dirty basket for madam to wash on Saturdays.

May, my theory is that the longer they spend in there, the less time we have to find them jobs to do.
