Police at the Pool Party

I hope British police know how to handle this a lot better. The US cops seem so aggressive and gun totting - there is nothing in between. I am convinced that a cop without a gun learns to use much better control and communication skills to handle difficult situations.

That's terrible poor girl, what has she done so bad? I think American police are gun happy, that's why many innocent people are dead..

Not at all nice to watch but the question is why didn't she do as she was asked. These things easily escalate if you don't follow the orders you are given so just do it.

Re: Police at the Pool Party

GOOD!
No way can he justify pulling a loaded and primed weapon against a bikini-clad scared girl who was asking WTH he was doing...NEITHER can he justify throwing the other defenceless and unarmed girl to the ground in that manner. I spent enough time on foot patrol in stressful times to know what starts as an isolated incident WILL invariably escalate...so LET the gun-happy idiot be properly hauled over the coals-and if deemed necessary,re-trained. Maybe not lose his job-but DEFINITELY be re-trained regarding crowd control.

Re: Police at the Pool Party

In the clip I saw there are 3 officers trying to control 20 or so youths..

They are obviously outnumbered and have no control over the situation.
This officer seems to get spooked by a young man who comes toward him and thats when he pulls the gun..

In a country where guns are carried by so many and shootings are a daily occurence I wouldnt want to be in law enforcement.
The cop is wrong but I can understand he is looking out for number one and making sure he isnt going to be one of the 11,000+ people killed or the 30,000+ wounded this year by gun crime.

Re: Police at the Pool Party

With the propensity of US Police Officers to kill unarmed people, especially if one is African-American, it's hardly surprising the youths chose to run amok. Surely the assault on the bikini clad young woman was a case of molestation!

Re: Police at the Pool Party

I blame the commanding officer - this is unruly behavior at a pool party - sufficient numbers of officers are needed NOT 1or 2
