As for chlorinated chicken there is nothing wrong with the final wash to butchered poultry containing a percentage of a disinfectant.
Presently all of our store bought poultry is contaminated with Campylobacter bacteria and sometimes with Salmonella and Clostridium perfringens bacteria and often all three.
Are you aware of the almost barrier nursing procedures that must be taken with our British poultry now? Advice including to not wash it in order to avoid contaminated water droplets contaminating things - AND PEOPLE - and instead relying on the heat of cooking to kill the bacteria the bird is carrying?
Or that even handling roast-in-the-bag birds requiring thorough hand washing?
This whole furore about chlorinated chickens is 100% political bullcrap. I would much prefer if any prepared poultry that I bought WAS chlorinated, after all it just means it's final rinse is in water with a very small percentage of bleach in it.

I will expand. A dog eat dog world is where competition between enterprises using whatever advantages can be created are used and if the competition in the field is unable to match or better that advantage then tough tittie.

"All of the research says we're shooting African-Americans about 24% less than we probably ought to be, based on the crimes being committed"
