Re: My goodness I'm gorgeous!

I hope there will never be a time when I will give up, although I don't spend an awful lot of time on myself, but my hygiene must be impeccable. I take advantage of any shortcuts I have learnt over the years. I wear a bit of make-up (eyes and lips) and my hair needs to look decent. Clothes have to be clean and suitable for what I am doing and where I am going. I won't wear anything which makes me feel uncomfortable and I don't dress to impress anybody - just to please myself. I suppose understated describes me best. I have learnt what suits me and that expensive fashion items are not always the best choice.

And you're right, classy doesn't have to be expensive

I’ve never done it, to be honest. I do the basics, with regular visits to the hair salon to keep my hair trimmed in an easy to care for style, moisturise face and skin every day and keep nails trimmed and tidy etc but I only wear make-up and faff about with my hair if I’m going out for a special occasion.

I don’t think there is an age when you start giving up on your appearance - if you’ve always been motivated to do make-up etc, I think that habit stays with you. I know my old Mum carried on with her routine all her life, right into her nineties, even in the last few years of terminal cancer. When she became too ill and infirm to do things herself, I used to have to do it for her - set her hair, paint her fingernails and toenails etc - she always applied her make-up herself, though - she didn’t trust me to do that!
Oh boot!
How lovely that picture is
And how lovely of you
I'd want that too x
