Obviously you didn't read the article nor follow the links - an American George O Smith first advanced the idea in 1942 Arthur C Clarke merely popularised the idea in 1945 and at the time acknowledged that the idea was advanced by George O Smith first.

It is no good quoting things if you don't bother to read them properly.

Hang on, I know that isn't true. I was involved with communications to Telstar which was the first communications satellite, it was developed by an American company (AT & T) with money from the USA, France and Britain.
It was an european project. Galileo Galilei was the astronomer who discovered jupiter's four moons, one of then called Europa.

Telstar was remembered in a famous peace of music called Telstar, written performed by the Spotnicks. Later covered by the Shadows.

There a distinct difference between proposing or postulating and actually producing a working prototype

Marching for leaders is a Continental European trait.

Many French, Dutch and Scandinavians , Germams, Austrians and Spanish marched for Adolf...........Not many Brits............We just kicked his arse whilst many of your EU countrymen were licking it !
