Thunder woke me but I'm not sure whether there was any rain. A friend from the Isle of Wight posted some spectacular videos of a dramatic electrical storm on the Solent.
3.25am here in Yorkshire and the most spectacular thunder and lightning storm...it woke me up. I've been watching it for the last 20 minutes....it's a bit scary
Indeed it was - very scary - and far too close for comfort!
I used to love storms when I was child and had no concept of their danger. Having had three very close encounters - they now scare me witless!
It woke me at 2am and I was watching it flash and roll. All the digital clocks were flashing too. Storms don't scare me as long as 'm inside, they're quite awesome really, but it took me ages to get back to sleep when it was over.
Got up to go to the toilet at 3:30am and all hell had broke loose.... I love thunderstorms but after ten minutes I couldn't keep my eyes open so went back to bed....
I could still see the flashes with closed eyes before I drifted off.....I should have set the recorder to watch it later.....
We are having the most spectacular electrical storm here in the SW. There have been constant flashes of lightening, one per second for the past twenty minutes at least and it looks as though it will continue for a while yet.
Anyone else seeing a storm at the moment?
Where was that, nothing up here in the North of Debon.
