Shortage of Medicines

Hi

I had to go to the Walk in Centre at the local Hospital yesterday.

I have an ongoing viral infection, it flares up from time to time.

I was prescribed an Anti Viral Medication.

Tescos said a week minimum before they could get it, Boots the same.

I eventually got it from the 7th Pharmacy I checked, I had the last of it.

We normally get it from France, but they have stopped exporting it.

A sign of the times.

Re: Shortage of Medicines

Mr Mags and myself had no problem getting our repeat prescriptions this week so all appears to be ok there at the moment...

Re: Shortage of Medicines

It said on the news this week that India who make many of our medicines can no longer get some of the basic ingredients from China to make them so they may be in short supply and this included Paracetamol/contraceptives/and HRT.

I am anticipating a shortage of one of my meds which is made in India and difficult to get anyway

Re: Shortage of Medicines

Fortunately, I have not had any problems getting my regular medications.

Despite the dire situation of our leaving our benefactors, the EU!

Re: Shortage of Medicines

I got my repeat ok last week.

Think I'll ask my vet if it is affecting any veterinary medicines too.

Hi

Get used to it.

Some will be in Short Supply.

We do not make things ourselves any longer.

Re: Shortage of Medicines

A couple of Mrs mart's items had not arrived at the pharmacy on Friday. The repeat prescription request was put in early Monday morning and would normally be ready for collection by Wednesday.

We're hoping for the coming Monday or Tuesday.

Re: Shortage of Medicines

It doesn't help that people are buying handfuls of Neurofen, Anadin and Paracetomol from supermarkets.
