The result of 'austerity'

Seems the barstewards in the scumbag 'nasty party' were not only responsible for a large rise in homelessness due to their social security cuts, but they even knew that such policy would create hardship.

A comment from the same article

I am interested that you quote "He was the second homeless person to die after being found in the same passageway this year." The first one was an Angolan / Portuguese illegal immigrant, who was deported in 2014 for sexually assaulting a child, illegally returned, was deported again in 2016, and illegally returned again.
Something is drawing people like this from their own countries, families, and jobs onto the streets of central London. Clearly not free housing, or Benefits, (though the number of the estimated 1 m. illegal immigrants sleeping rough is vanishingly small).
I don’t know what the magnet is, but perhaps we need to understand why an underpass in London is the preferred option.

Hi

If we set about deporting all the illegals here and then cut our overseas aid budget by 75% we would not need so much austerity.

I don't deny that swim, but we could have less or no austerity for the poor if we took proper tax from the rich and from big companies, cut the waste in many public services. THere is no real need to have people at the bottom paying the cost they are other than a political ethos runs strongly through the tory party.

Hi

The rich who pay tax here pay a lot, they are very heavily taxed.

It is Tax Avoiders like JRM we need to clamp down on and Big Business will also be based where tax is cheapest,

Facebook, Amazon etc can be based anywhere.

Macron has just introduced a digital tax, I admire him for that.

Rich tax payers who pay tax may pay a lot but they also have accountants to avoid paying tax and seem to manage in many cases to not pay their fair share at all.

Hi

Easy targets, but if you tax them too much they will simply not bother to continue in business.

That means redundancies and more people on benefits.

Why invest £100 million in a new business in the UK and have it taxed to death when you could invest the same money elsewhere and keep more profit.

We shop around for the cheapest gas and electric, they shop around for the lowest Tax.
