This was done at Art Class some time ago, where we are disciplined. Painted in Guache, which is opaque watercolour and you can go over dark colours with a light colour
It was copied from the from the Tutors photo
I had to carefully draw the subject and the fill in each area with colour, wait for it to dry and then put more colour on or glaze with another colour, Glaze yellow with blue makes green
All the careful attention really shows
This is the classical method of painting Watercolour.
No splashing it about and hoping for the best!
It took one hour to paint
I usually paint much faster in 30 minutes.

Azure darlin' - I don't know whether exhibits entered into the 'National ' Summer exhibition have to be contemporary or not, (no doubt the application form will provide that information) but I honestly think you should submit at least one of your paintings to the exhibition just to show how talented you are.
