definitely Muds, I've just posted that on my facebook, it's bloody ridiculous how much plastic is used, it#s just not necessary. I think I'll go round Tescos removing plastic off everything, do you think they would let me?

Re: Give up plastic for Lent

The plastic you see in the supermarket is only the half of it. So much of the loose stuff on the shelves arrives in plastic packaging but it is all recycled daily along with cardboard and paper.

The problem is what happens to it after we put it in our recycling bins. How does it get from our recycling bin to a far of beach? I have no idea how that happens. Somewhere along the line, something is going wrong.

We have a shop in town that refills your own containers but they choose to charge double the price, hence it is always empty.

I would prefer to give up plastic rather than chocolate any day although I'm not religious so I don't usually give up anything at all.

Same here. The only reason I ever go in there is to give them my empty crisp packets - they're the only place in town that will recycle them for you.

So how can something with less packaging be more expensive? I don't get it do you?

It can only be the amount of stuff they buy is too small to attract mahoosive discounts like the supermarkets get.

Good idea Muddy!

It makes you wonder how we managed without plastic years ago...
