Home cooked meals from the freezer

How do you heat yours up - m/wave or oven?

I use the m/wave as it's cheaper on the leccy bill

In a word..oven. Takes longer but the result is much better. M/wave is OK for some things though. I have a mini oven..a bit like an electric frying pan only hotter and deeper with a grid platform. That is perfect.

Oven or saucepan depending on what it is. Don't own a microwave.

I take the food out of the freezer the night before and let it thaw slowly except for bread or raw dough.

My home made meat pie I heat up in the oven.

Casseroles/stews go in the microwave.

I microwave where I can, I find the food has less tendency to dry out, but all depends what it is of course.

Re: Home cooked meals from the freezer

Thanks for the replies. Yes I agree certain foods do need oven heating.

Does anyone remember the good old days when they used to heat up meals over a pan of boiling water with plate on top of the meal?
