Where were the cops??

The police were cospicuous bytheir absence in Bristol yesterday!
Apparently they were present but must have been hiding as l
failed to see even one as the crowd of mainly yoofs with back
packs ,( clearly prepared for the job,) lassooed the statue and got
that section of the crowd to act as tractors and toppled the 7ft
statue from its plinth, after trying and failing to smash the bronze
figure to smithereens ( they obviously had no idea about materials! )
They then carried it to the harbour and threw it int the water!!
All this time the police were were not to be seen?
Apparently they were actually watching what was going on,. WHY?
The job of the police is to PROTECT lives AND PROPERTY ! NOT
to assist acts that do the absolute opposite??
The real fault lies with the Bristol police in not putting a gaurd
around the statue BEFORE the protest began and made sure there
was no chance of getting near th statue?
This statue has been the subject of controvrsy before and so the
powers that be should have been prepared for this to be attempted?
I think the Bristol police acted disgracefully, after all we expect the
allegedly intelligent yoof to act like morons, but we dont expect
our cops to not act at all??

Bristol has a large black largely Somalian population .
There is ill feeling because of this mans involvement in the slave trade .
Almost everyone was in some way in Bristol .

If the police had intervened then it would have been spun as the police defending slavery.

I suggested Todgy that the old bill should have been in situ
BEFORE the protests began, and l also stated why this should have
been thought of by the old bill?
I see the MSM is mostly in favour of the anarchists in our midst?
I suggest that the organisers of these protests give some attention
to other statues, particularly those depicting royal figures that are
dotted all over the realm who all benefitted from slavery?
The potential there is infinite!

Don't forget to take out any monuments of Gladstone ,or come to that any number of the slave owning families such as George Orwell's ancestors, who at the time made a financial killing in compensation when slavery was abolished.

It's the mob mentality. They'e either not too bright or stupid ignorant oafs to go on the rampage during this pandemic. Can't they stick to Twitter instead.

I understand all that Muddy, what l am otraged by is the police
lack of responce?
It seems the nature of policing has been bastardised somewhere
along the line, and we can no longer expect the police to protect us?

You're right of course.

But if the police HAD been in place they would have been blamed for initiating violence.

This whole thing has moved on beyond protest. It's now perilously close to civil war. The open issue is who is fighting against us and what are their war aims.
