Re: A $ 25,000 oil change

The car has to be dismantled to enable the oil to be drained, that’s where all the money goes, in labour costs...what muppet designed that!,!

Did everyone catch that bit about there being 16 oil drain plugs? How bizarre .

The expression ‘reassuringly expensive’ comes to mind. Some super rich people take pleasure is buying things that most of us cannot afford.

Re: A $ 25,000 oil change

Wow. I am SO 'bottom of the pile''. My Land Rover does 0-50 in less than three weeks,PLUS I once overtook our local vicar [he was on his bicycle,so maybe that doesn't count] To change the oil takes a half-inch ring spanner and a pair of Mole grips...sorted! [the spanner to ease the pressure in the head, the Molies to undo the drain plug] Takes circa 20 minutes if left to drain Air filter is a simple two-catch-and-out affair, give it a bash against the front wing, all grit out-replace. Oil filter is the same spanner, so takes two minutes to change. My veteran Fiesta is even more simple. Circa 25 minutes for a full service-including checking tracking. Landy is a '68 2250cc 88",Fiesta is a wee little thing,'98,1299cc,goes like effluence off a stick,60mpg. meh-keep yer Bugattis....
