Terry, my ex husband was sworn to secrecy by his own family, who were close friends of the adoptive parents. He also felt it was not his place to tell M.
M’s adoptive parents were lovely people, who absolutely loved and adored him and gave him everything he wanted. I am not sure how they would’ve reacted if someone told M who his real mother was or that she lived, so close.
I understand, his real mother was a relative of his adoptive mother.
I used to say to Terry, that he should tell M, everything he knew but he wouldn’t, saying it would cause upset and trouble if he did.
Things are different now and M would be able to trace his real parents but in those days it was difficult.

of course,i never knew I had a father,so iv found out about him from my new bros asisters
