Not being entirely sure of what 'feisty' really means, Artangel, I had to look it up - and smiled!
adjective - informal
of a person, typically one who is relatively small, lively, determined, and courageous.
Well - I am not small - 5ft 7ins in my stocking feet, I can be lively, I am determined, not at all sure about the courageous!! I don't like conflict and will only argue a point when I am 100% certain I am right.
Have twice been involved in - shall we say scuffles.
1) Punched a skinhead in the mouth because he was hurting a kitten - rubbing it's face against a brick wall. Acted on impulse and only succeeded because he was so startled by my attack. Split his lip, bruised my knuckles, saved the kitten.
2) One night, coming home up lane from the bus-stop, some idiot decided he wanted my handbag - he ended up limping away with sore dangly bits and a stiletto heel shaped bruise on his instep!
I would say both of those were foolish rather than courageous - as the outcomes could have been very different! Do they qualify as feisty, Art?
