I can't stop vaping

I'm on the lowest possible level of nicotine (3) but find it impossible to give up my vaper. I want to for health reasons, but it doesn't help that there's a shop below me that sells the liquid.

I'm going to give it another go. My body is only hooked on a small amount of nicotine, but it's the inhaling I miss; that and the not having something to do with my hands.

Has anyone vaped and managed to give it up?

Re: I can't stop vaping

I went cold turkey from 30 a day, it was tough for a long time. Determination is the answer to giving up.
Mentally you can do it bodily not so easy.
It actually took me 3 years to get to the stage where I didn't think of even wanting a smoke. I, had the shakes across the shoulders or that is what it felt like.

the hand what to do with was the same thoughts I had, it is all part of the withdrawal symptoms, so is eating sweets . Watch out for weight increase as well

A woman I know took up vaping because all her friends smoked & when they went out for a ciggy she was left alone, to be with them she started vaping, not really the way to do it, but it gave her a social life.

They didn't have vaping when I gave up in 2002. I used patches. You can still get them or there is the gum. It's actually the nicotine (however small) that makes it attractive otherwise you would just suck on a pen and get the same feeling.

Same here Annie. I gave up in 1996 with the help of patches just for a short time. Still wanted one occasionally for ages afterwards though, but didn't give in.

Patches and will-power did it for me, too, although I had horrendous withdrawal symptoms .....

Re: I can't stop vaping

I gave up smoking in the late 80s, decided it was money going up in smoke and stopped there and then and relied on my willpower only. Difficult to start but I was determined.

If your heart says you don’t really want to give it up, you never will.

After a couple of weeks, Mr Mags was so impressed with what I had done that he said he would join me and give up too.

Re: I can't stop vaping

I gave up smoking cold turkey about 40 yrs ago. on a bet of $5.00 and she never did pay me my $5.00 and now she is in her grave. She never gave it up on the bet, she only lasted one day. She was addicted to cigs and alcohol....she couldn't give up either, poor girl......

PS: The withdrawal was TERRIBLE....

I was given a Vape thing Dreamy, but I never used it. Sometimes we need a crutch.
You will succeed when you are ready. X
