Not enough candidates in local elections

The Electoral Reform Society revealed in new analysis that 300 council seats in England have been guaranteed for one party or individual before any votes been cast.

There are also almost 150 wards across the country where there will be no election taking place due to a lack of candidates resulting in only one person standing.

Across the country, Conservative councillors have already won seats as a result of no opposition.

Oh well never mind. Nothing ever changes anyway, so it doesn't matter.

Hi

Who on earth would want to get involved in Politics at the moment?

It is a complete disaster.

That's true, our local council is conservative and likely to remain, in some cases people from the same party standing for the position.

You must live down South, Cinderella. We have never been Conservative up here, although my vote won't count as they won't be getting one. What is the actual point anymore??

Local elections here have a low turnout, and those who do stick with Tories...no matter what.

Floydy my boy, you must vote if you dont there is no chance of
change! You know who is standing and for what! Just put
your mark next to their name, even if you dont really agree
with all they say, just vote for them! Start with these local
elections first, then just keep voting for the opposite party to
the two main parties, if you can convince anyone you know
to do the same, we have a good chance of upsetting the
status quo! this chance we have will not come back again
any time soon, l intend to vote Ukip in my area as there is
not a Brexit party candidate, although they are not my
preferred choice, but their general direction is the way l wish
UK to go!
please dont waste your votes!

Regards Donkeyman!

Re: Not enough candidates in local elections

Sorry Donkeyman, and please don't patronise me by lecturing me on why I should vote.
Every party is the same these days. Brexit fiasco has made that all too clear.
I have always voted but there really is nobody worth voting for anymore. They are all in it for themselves and the British public are the last thing on their minds. They are corrupt, self-satisfying and completely out of touch.
Just my view.

Re: Not enough candidates in local elections

I think swimmy and Cindy could be part of a high intensity
media & establishment propaganda campaign to dissuade
leave voters from voting at all, we must not listen!
the more misinformation and pessimism they try to spread
the more we must persevere. We cannot trust anyone only
ourselves, trust our own judgement.Their are only two
candidates for leaving eu, if you want to leave vote for one
ot them, it is a no brainer!
Stand by, the BS & lies are going to fly thick very soon.
the BBC has allready started their campaign!

Sorry if you thought l was patronising Floydy, lwas just trying
to influence you not to waste your vote, because nothing will
change,( short of revolution ) if we the voters dont try. and
you sound to me like you wish for some sort of change!
l fully agree with your views about the POS we are stuck with
niow, we have a once in 50yrs opportunity for change!
Once again, sorry if l sounded patronising it was unintended!

Best Regards Donkeyman!
