Dogs, are they psychic?

Dolly sits in the window a lot, watching the World go past. She never makes a sound, just watches.
Yesterday she started whining, got very upset. A border collie was walking past, I thought it was following it's owner, off lead, and the owner was out of sight around the bend in the road.
I noticed a post on local FB, a dog was missing, photo was of the dog that had just walked past!
I messaged owner straight away, they found him almost imediately!

I'm sure Dolly picked up on the dog's distress! Clever girl!

Floyd once let out a blood curdling howl when we walked past a garden with a very thin dog in it, it turned out that it was left outside in all weathers and folk had reported the owners.

Re: Dogs, are they psychic?

I have always thought they know far more than us about certain things, Tess.

I believe their brains are not clogged with things like technology, cars, money worries etc, so it is able to tune in more easily to natural things than ours.
Look at how many know when owners are coming home, or are ill, for example.

Glad the collie got home safely. Well done you and Dolly.

Re: Dogs, are they psychic?

Oh yes they are , dogs are pure emotion they feel deeply . When i had my two cavs Queenie and Lady , they were being looked after at home by mother in law . I was in greece with husband . When i was at the airport in Greece i sent messages to my dogs telling them i was coning home . I sent again when we landed in uk and told them the arrival time home .

Mother in law said they sat by the front door the last half hour , as we turned into the drive there they were noses to the glass with waggy tails .

I miss them and the memory makes my eyes feel sad

I agree, Bratti. And like I said earlier, our minds are too clogged with advancing technology now to bother about basic instincts.

I have a book on this subject here somewhere, and it lists many cases of dogs psychic abilities.

Re: Dogs, are they psychic?

They definitely have something that we don't have. I have witnessed a number of strange patterns of behaviour with each of my dogs, which could not have been explained in any other way than them being psychic or tuned into a different level of awareness or communication !
