I used to to do that, (well not with the hose) with my canary when he had his stroke. He was still perky and eating and singing, so was still obviously enjoying life. Eventually after another stroke I did have to take him to be put to sleep. He was 12, a good age. He had a long and happy life.

He loved his baths every day but couldn't when he had his stroke. His wing was out of kilter So if the weather was warm and sunny I used to take him outside and put him on the grass, position an old cage over him for safety, and gently spray him with a little spray bottle. He loved it!

In the winter, I used to put him in the shower cubicle and spray him, not with the shower head, still the same spray bottle ... he still enjoyed it, but preferred the grass under his feet.

He was such a character. I miss him

I've put the bath on other side of the garden now as I'm having the trees pruned tomorrow and it will be in the way. So after all that's done it goes back and there will be hell to play if they don't use it
