I forgot I had these!

Some examples of tiny shells I combed from the beach at Herm, Channel Islands, some years ago, now.

The coin is a 5p piece, to give you an idea of the scale.

I was on my hands and knees for over two hours, finding just a good handful of these little shells, which are prized, not in monetary worth, but in how difficult it is to see such tiny ones in amongst the sand!

Then I had to wash them repeatedly, to get rid of any organic matter remaining inside them, as otherwise they were a bit smelly, and then let them dry for ages before I was able to put them into little ornamental wooden boxes that I already had.

I was told that the tides bring them from the Caribbean.
