Happy New Year to you all, I hope 2019 is bigger and better than 2018 was for everyone!
I was that "somebody" who got a bit damp at the Sydney Opera House I don't think I have ever got as wet so quick off rain all the places you could shelter were cordoned off for the posher people there that night so all we could do was try and shelter under the edge of one of the sails of the Opera House, one thing Jorn Utzon did not design the Opera House for was for people to keep dry under the curved roof means you are basically sheltering under a waterfall I had a lovely waterfall of water from someone else's brolly going directly down my shorts , whenever I walked puddles appeared in my trainers.....
As Bruce said though it rains heavy but it does pass relatively quickly and the heat means you mostly dry out pretty quick although my trainers took another day to dry out.
It was all worth it though, the fireworks were as amazing as they always are and it was all organised well, my only disappointment was the catering running out of ice lollies by 12:30 and noodles by 3:30pm.
The organisation of the thing is amazing though and two days later you would not have even knew it had taken place with all the fencing and barriers removed and the banners for NYE already replaced by banners for Australia day on the 26th of January.
