I use it all the time at work for big meetings when I'm working remotely or for meetings of multiple sites/teams. We have full conferencing facilities. But it's really difficult to catch everything going on especially if people in the main room start chatting with each other or shuffling papers. Might be ok one to one or for smaller meetings. It's the body language and eye contact that is missed. It's great as a backup but I think most people wouldn't want it to replace physical presence. Perhaps for women body language is more important to communication.
