When I first came to Australia in the mid 60s I was required by law to have a chest Xray within one month of arrival as they were dedicated to wiping out TB.
Small world Bruce. IIRC, there was no hospital in Wednesbury so your 1st wife would have been in the Moxley Isolation hospital (only a mile away from Wednesbury town centre).
