What if the buyer is the government, using the money of the tax
payer? Where is the control of value for money coming from?
All the big projects on the go at the moment appear to have open
ended contracts, ( big ben/ HS2/ Crossrail HOP etc) How does this
come about, it seems to be common practice now for the final price
to be double the quoted price! And if the contractor thinks they will
only break even they either raise the price or go bankrupt!
Imo we should go back to the system of gov publicnworks depts
because this private contractor set up is NOT giving value for
money to the taxpayer and WE still carry the risks!
