Barnier by the way does not make the Rules, he is mere ly following EU Directions.

I cannit see the EU countries negotiating one by one, that would mean they would have to Leave.

I can see the EU changing track, especially over Fisheries.

The vast majority of EU Countries have no interest in Fisheries at all.

Well, your right in 2019 Italy produced about an extra 60k cars last year but that wasn't always the case. Still, one plant against a whoke country is pretty good going nonetheless, unless your just a miserable old hater

Barnier has a mandate from the 27. He is their chief negotiator - he was part if the creation of that mandate. As you can see, he is utterly useless at delivering it. No wonder you like him so much Swimmy

Hi

I don't like him, he is a prat.

He is however doing the job is is paid to do.

He is simply following the instructions of his Political Masters.

Unfortunately the EU is run by France and Germany.

Perhaps because its still in the "talks about" stage? As you know the nissan sales between januari 2019 and januari 2020 were marked by a steep decline. The production in sunderland was decreased, but in barcelona there still was a massive overproduction.
Now, due to corona, 3,000 nissan workers in barcelona have been laid of. They will be compensated by the EU corona crisis program, so no skin of the nissan nose.
The sunderland plant was invested in, in 2016, just prior to the referendum (a 60 mln press was invested in). Moving production there decreases loss of investment for the french renault/nissan consortium. Brits working for the french, you couldn't make it up.

Hi

It is all speculation now.

We will know where we are on 1st January next year.

Not that far away at all.

Get your facts straight! It's NOT a consortium (a consortium is an association of two or more individuals, companies, organizations or governments with the objective of participating in a common activity or pooling their resources for achieving a common goal), Renault owns ~43% of Nissan but Nissan still has a controlling stake.

Talking about getting facts straight, why not follow your own advice?

Ghosn*said Nissan executives and Japanese officials were shocked by a 2015 decision by the French government to increase its voting rights at Renault. The overnight move gave the French state a blocking minority in Renault, which in turn controlled Nissan via its 43.4 percent stake in the Japanese automaker.

France increased its participation in Renault to take advantage of new regulation that granted long-term investors double voting rights. Macron, then a 37-year-old economy minister with then-unknown presidential ambitions, did not warn Ghosn he would make the move until the last minute.

It was a dirty trick by Macron.

Who would have thought that a Japabese company would be telling a French company to build its cars in the UK by British workers..... and thats after we left the EU.

Nissan moving to the EU I heard the remainers say ....

What a load of bollocks that was
