Re: Trump supporters stormed Capital Hill

The chaotic scenes unfolded after Trump, due to leave office on Jan. 20, addressed thousands of protesters, repeating false claims that the election was stolen from him due to widespread election fraud and irregularities.

Vice President Mike Pence, who had presided over the joint session of Congress, had already been escorted from the Senate.

“We will never give up,” Trump earlier told thousands of cheering supporters on a grassy expanse near the White House called the Ellipse. “We will never concede. It doesn’t happen. You don’t concede when there’s theft involved.”

He was more interested in what Pence did a short time ago.
Following his dubious pardons and pending legal investigations against him, I doubt he will concede.
But, stop the bus, not many of those rioters and protesters/supporters are wearing masks and its COVID-19 Central in the US
For some strange reason protesters don't seem to be affected by Covid, there were no spikes of infection after various London protests, or all of the beach shenanigans in Dorset.

Those incidents were before the new variant came along.

I seem to remember an Austrian orator who managed to gather some unprecedented support from normally level headed and civilized people.

Re: Trump supporters stormed Capital Hill

Scenes like these remind me of those ones we occasionally see in some middle East counties where a bunch of zealots burn the American flag while shooting bullets into the air.
