Hence why I refuse to interact. Simple solution.

BTW, your earlier post mentioned GPS tracking, so I thought I'd look for an appropriate web site and found one.

I was very pleased to see at least one Fisheries Protection Vessel sitting right there! I'm not sure exactly what they are actually doing, though.

Probably closer to the truth than we'd like to think.

Oh dear.
From sense and sensibility I see that this thread had descended into a refuge for the tinfoil hat lunatic fringe.
How sad.

Again and to be clear:
The official legal position is as I have posted.
They are there in black and white.

It makes me wonder what other laws those dissenters choose to disagree with and how?

Hi

It is a mess, but much as I dislike him, we cannot blame Boris.

The agreement was 1250 pages, no PM can know everything and it is a detail which should have been dealt with by our negotiators.

Re: Bad deal for fishing !!

I don't usually get involved in any discussions about Brexit, far too complicated and involved for me. However, anyone who wishes to hear what it's like 'at the coal face' so to speak should watch the recent TV series about the fishing industry in Cornwall and what's happened to it.

Those are the people who know what's happening and why it's often no longer viable to be a fisherman. They 'say it as it is' and exactly what the repercussions of the EU have been for them. It's quite an education to watch if anyone's interested. Sorry, don't know what channel it was on.
If I can find it I will add to this post.

Edited to add: That programme can be found on BBC2, see link below:

The recent link you posted Zaphod was the CFA, are you suggesting
that we are still being governed by this document which has always
been a source of confusion and conflict?
It is this "agreement" that largely fomented the anti EU sentiment
within UK??
It obviously hasn't been doing all it sets out to do as super trawlers
have been observed trundling up and down our eastern coast
within our six mile limit for days at a time often encroaching on
conservation areas as well??
These encroachments have been authenticated by groups such as
Greenpeace !! So, what price the CFA ??
Just as an experiment, why don't we assert ourselves by banning
These super trawlers from all our waters as a start? We have the
to do this on enviromental grounds! Oh, l forgot, we are still bound
by the CFA??

My apologies; I must trim down my rather large collection of links to a more easily-managable level (it was the CFP by the way) but the current blurb is here:

I have watched a couple of episodes Baz and l agree it is very
informative and interesting programme imo.
And it shows how the fishing communities in UK have shrunk from
being thriving and bustling to what we see now, which is semi
populated , ( by real people ?)
The harbour side fish markets now consist of a small corner of a
warehouse instead of the whole warehouse!
One encouraging sign l thought , was that some of the fishermen
were young guys with young families?
Otherwise it's a very sad story ?
And all this changed since joining the EU !!

Re: Bad deal for fishing !!

It is indeed very sad.

The only way to improve the lot of these fishermen is be encouraging us as a nation to eat more of what they catch, and that isn't going to be easy and neither will it happen overnight.
As an island nation we have a tradition of a diet consisting of far more fish that we eat now and I'm not sure how we can change that.
Interestingly the "thriving, bustling" fishing communities of the past were not in recent years and were in times before the industry started exporting abroad too.
