Or to quote a source that people can actually read:

At a time when so little international business is face to face because of the pandemic, the UK is flying ministers to India to lay the groundwork for a deal on free trade.

In a sign of the importance that the UK attaches to reaching what is being described as an “enhanced trade partnership” with India on the back of Brexit, the international trade secretary, Liz Truss, has been meeting Piyush Goyal, the Indian commerce and industry minister.

It is part of a British wide charm offensive with the subcontinent that already saw Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab paying a visit in December. So what is at stake and what are the chances of success?

India is already the UK’s sixth largest non-EU trading partner after the US, China, Japan, Switzerland and Norway, and the relationship now supports more than 500,000 UK jobs.

If we were still in the EU we wouldn't be doing this at all.

Trade is trade .... business pays for everything.

Indeed, Australia has a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with India but they are very protective of agriculture. However they have an interesting take on our trade war with China.

No, while in the EU the UK vetoed a trade deal with india. Now the EU is negotiating again with india, soon to reach a comprehensive trade deal.
Now that brexit reality has hit, is the UK now prepared to accept the condition (letting in indian workers unlimited) they vetoed for?

You're off on one of your flights of fancy again I see.
Where is it suggested that India wants unrestricted migration?

There's a difference between wanting more visas and wanting unrestricted migration you know.
And personally I would far rather see an Indian get a work visa than an Eastern European arrive on a bus to allegedly wash cars or manicure fingers.

What do you Europeans have against Indians anyway that you would rather not see such immigration?

Was there a limit to the number of visa? Think not.

Don't you expect the indians to know their proper place. Remember me, who did colonize india until recently?

Then you think wrong otherwise you would be able to show where it says "unrestricted" - but you can't.

Unlike you EUrophiles we here in the UK embrace BAME MP's you know.
More than ever before in fact.
Why is the EU's proportion of BAME politicians actually falling?
Who high-up in EU politics represents the huge BAME population of the EU?

It's certainly not going to be easy if you think of tariffs for cars and dairy products, for example. But I see much more room for compromises now," said Sunil Prasad, secretary-general of the Europe-India Chamber of Commerce in Brussels.

He stressed that Brexit has created a sense of urgency in New Delhi that talks with the EU should be revived, primarily because Indian companies had traditionally focused on the U.K. as a launchpad into the single market.

"Most Indian companies used to go to Britain as their point of entry into Europe," said Prasad. "It appeared the obvious choice*because of historical ties and the language. But with the U.K. leaving, they now look to Germany, to France, to Belgium. And they hope for a trade deal to facilitate investment and trade flows."

The prospect of Brussels leading the charge for a trade deal with New Delhi is galling for Brexiteers, who have long argued that Britain's former colonies would be its most natural trade partners after the U.K. leaves the EU.
