Threats do not work, they can add up, so can others, which is why our deals with Japan etc are not as good as those we had as part of the EU.

To be fair, Swimmy it is Coveny saying this who we all know is a complete head case.

Its because of him Ireland as just lost most of its own fishing quotas in favour of other EU member states cleaning them out.

His Britain hating, jug eared mate Varadkar should be back soon so that should give him another 5 minute ego trip.

Exactly this - and as Bread says, trying to use Coveney as a source is about as reliable as using Laura Kuenssberg.

The whole world has seen just how untrustworthy the EU are; who doesn't remember VDLeyen's recent vaccine tantrum and unilateral use of Article16 ?

Nobody cares about who is seen as what anyway.
It makes zero difference.
Anybody doubting that might like to wonder how countries like Iran, North Korea and far more besides seem to manage.
