EU blatant favoritism provokes Indian backlash over vaccines

India blames EU for up to FOUR MILLION Covid cases - 'People were scared of vaccines'

"MIXED messages from the EU may have led to as many as a fifth of all Covid infections in India, sources close to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government in Delhi said last night."

"Leading virologist Dr Shahid Jameel, director of the Trivedi School of Biosciences at Ashoka University, said: "Vaccine hesitancy is not an issue now but it was. In the first part of the vaccine drive because we were on a falling daily curve and so at that time there was also a lot of this blood clotting matters that were being raised in the EU. It “was playing on people's minds."

And this view was backed by official sources who estimated that vacillations over vaccine safety may have accounted for as much as 20 percent of Indian infections, around four million in total."

Now yes the link I will give is for The Express which some will automatically deride, for no good reason.
But it does make a valid point, and it does appear that the root of the EU's anti-AstraZeneca stance is the company's involvement with the UK government to produce this vaccine.

As always, it is ordinary people that suffer.
Not just in India either.

The source comes from Indian health workers. Its not just India who are blaming the reckless lies about the AZ vaccine either. Macron, Merkel and the commission have blood on their hands.

Indeed it is.

I've been reading about the sad situation in Africa too.
Many countries just do not report deaths - families don't; they just bury their dead.
There's no way of knowing how many on the continent have already or will suffer.

The UK allowed the Serum Institute Of India (the world's largest vaccine maker) a licence to make their own Solly old chum.

Besides which the UK was the first country to actually deliver much-needed aid in their time of need.

Remember this?

"WHO criticises EU over vaccine export controls"

It looks like the EU are going to have quite a bit of explaining to do when, eventually, the dust settles.

But, when asked about giving vaccines to India, the foreign secretary*Dominic Raab*said: “I haven’t had a request I can tell you on that specifically.”
His Labour shadow,*Lisa Nandy, also backed the UK completing its vaccination programme first, saying: “We haven’t defeated this virus in Britain yet and we need to keep up the momentum.”

But Patrick Watt, Christian Aid’s director of policy, said: “Now that almost all British adults in high-risk categories have been vaccinated – many of them with doses made in India – the UK should be sharing supplies with South Asia and other poorer regions where rollout has been slow.”
