Re: A take on Winston Churchill

I have come to the conclusion that TAT is trolling and shall, therefore, take no further part in this discussion.

British war crimes conducted by British war criminals.

And so was Dresden!.

Dresden was in Nazi Germany and we were at war with Nazi Germany and therefore it was a legitimate target. It was also to show the Russians of the almighty power the Allies had, as a warning not to stray from the agreement they had signed at the War Conference.

Sad, but remember, 25,000 dead in Dresden, 32,000 dead in London alone.

War, unfortunately, was War.

The Geneva Conventions were established and agreed to by all sides in the European theatre of war.

The purpose of the Geneva conventions is to ensure that injury to noncombatants is kept to a minimum.

It's OK, everyone. All has been clarified.

In short:
It was fine for Germany to bomb our cities, but we should never have bombed theirs.

Simple logic!

Would that be the 1949 Geneva Convention?

And a total misrepresentation of the matter of war crimes that were conducted by the British Government during WW2.

But these things were war crimes and were prosecuted at Nuremberg.
